Believing in the Next Chapter: Our 2026 Payson Scholarship

May 4, 2026 | Payson High School, Utah

At Payson High School’s Senior Awards Night, students and their community gathered to mark the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. On May 4, Michelle presented the 2026 SMPLife Foundation $5,000 scholarship as part of that celebration.

Behind the presentation was a family effort. Our board considered service, leadership, character, counselor input, and the difference educational assistance could make. We wanted to support a young adult who was working to build a better life and could use a little help along the way.

SMPLife Foundation donated scholarship assistance to one graduating senior, continuing the commitment that began with our first Payson award the previous year. Working with the school connects that support to people who know and encourage its students.

For Shawn and Michelle, education is an opportunity whose influence can reach well beyond one individual. The knowledge, confidence, and skills a person develops may shape their family, their work, and the people they help throughout their life. That potential is one of the reasons this partnership matters to our family.

A scholarship provides practical help at a time filled with decisions about what comes next. Our hope is that the support also communicates belief: your effort matters, your future is worth investing in, and other people want to see you succeed.

We are grateful to take part in that encouragement alongside the school and the people already supporting its students. Continuing this work gives SMPLife Foundation and its partners a meaningful way to invest in the next generation, one educational opportunity at a time.
