Rancho De Los Ninos
May 25–30, 2026 | Baja California, Mexico | A Child’s Hope Foundation
The work on our return trip to Baja was varied: gravel to spread, a shed to frame and roof, recreation areas to weed, dormitories to paint, and plumbing to help with. Together, those tasks contributed to the everyday spaces children and caregivers use.
In May 2026, SMPLife Foundation again sponsored family and friends in service with A Child’s Hope Foundation. At Rancho de los Niños, volunteers helped with facility improvements, delivered donated Chromebooks, and spent time with the children.
Near the end of the trip, another practical need became part of the work. A Costco supply run filled about ten carts with food, cleaning products, toiletries, and household essentials for two orphanages. SMPLife Foundation donated toward the purchase alongside A Child’s Hope Foundation, team members, and other donors.
The supply run gave a concrete picture of what partnership can make possible. Different people contributed, and those gifts became everyday essentials headed to the homes that needed them. The combined support helped respond to several kinds of need in one trip.
The facility work mattered for a similar reason. Caring for children also depends on keeping buildings, grounds, and ordinary household systems working. Our role was to contribute useful labor and resources in support of the people providing that care over time.
Returning is part of what we hope to build at SMPLife Foundation: relationships that lead to continued involvement, with room to respond to the needs our partners identify. We want generosity to be accompanied by attention, participation, and a willingness to keep learning how to help.
