Hope in the Saddle

Scholarships arranged February 2026 | Mapleton, Utah | Bridle Up Hope Mapleton

Confidence, responsibility, and the way a young person approaches challenges can shape many parts of life. Opportunities to practice those skills in a supportive setting are worth making more accessible.

In 2026, SMPLife Foundation provided two scholarships for Bridle Up Hope Mapleton, an equine-assisted learning program focused on hope, confidence, relationships, and life skills. The support helped two young women access the program.

One scholarship covered the participant’s program fee. The other helped close a funding gap while her family contributed as well. The arrangements reflected different circumstances while working toward the same purpose: make participation possible.

The partnership also has a personal connection for our family. The principles of the 7 Habits have been meaningful in Shawn’s life, and the opportunity to support a program that connects life skills with hands-on learning resonated with him. We wanted to help young people access that kind of opportunity and explore appropriate ways for our family to be involved.

The program’s staff bring their experience and ongoing attention; participants bring their own effort and willingness to learn. SMPLife Foundation’s role was to help with the cost of access so those relationships and experiences could begin.

We are grateful to contribute alongside the people doing that continuing work. Investing in a young person can take many forms, and this partnership offers a different setting for learning, encouragement, and the practice of skills they can carry into everyday life.
