Room Around the Thanksgiving Table

November 2025 | Santaquin, Utah

A Thanksgiving meal begins well before anyone sits down at the table. It starts with planning, a grocery list, and the resources to bring the food home. For a household with a tight budget, that preparation can add another pressure to the season.

In November 2025, SMPLife Foundation donated toward Thanksgiving groceries for two families in the Santaquin area. Working through a local connection, the project helped provide food for their holiday meals.

The task was practical and timely: respond to a specific need with groceries that could become a meal shared at home. It was a quiet project, centered on helping two households with one part of the holiday.

Our hope was to ease that preparation and leave more room for the people gathering around the table. A familiar meal and time together can carry meaning far beyond the ingredients, and making the groceries available was a simple way to help.

Projects like this depend on people who notice needs close to them. Local relationships make it possible to connect a willingness to give with a useful way to act. SMPLife Foundation’s contribution supported that connection, with respect for the privacy of the families involved.

Meaningful service takes many forms. Alongside larger partnerships and group projects, we want to remain attentive to the needs that arise nearby. In this case, generosity became something straightforward and useful: Thanksgiving groceries for two families in our own community.

Know someone that may have fallen on hard times and could use some groceries?
