Showing Up in Baja

May 27–31, 2025 | Baja California, Mexico | A Child’s Hope Foundation

In May 2025, family and friends traveled to Baja California to spend several days serving with A Child’s Hope Foundation. SMPLife Foundation donated toward the trip, helping make the group’s hands-on participation possible.

At Rancho La Hermosa and a local elementary school near Ensenada, volunteers contributed to the places where children learn, play, and receive care. The work included painting, concrete and landscaping improvements, donated clothing and school supplies, and care packages for sixteen families.

There was also time to spend with the children. Alongside the practical tasks, being present was part of the purpose: make room for connection while contributing to needs that the partner organizations understood.

The different parts of the trip worked together. A care package could go home with a family. School supplies could be put to use in a classroom. Improvements to a building or its grounds would remain after the volunteers had left. Each contribution had a practical place in the broader effort.

Our partners provided the connection to that ongoing work, while volunteers brought their time, effort, and willingness to help. The people who care for children throughout the year remain at the heart of it. We are grateful to contribute to their work.

For SMPLife Foundation, involving family and friends is part of what makes a project meaningful. Service becomes tangible when we show up, listen, and work together. This trip brought those commitments into the same place and gave our group a way to turn generosity into useful action.
