A First Scholarship, a Beginning
Spring 2025 | Payson High School, Utah
Young adults have so much potential. They bring plans, determination, and a desire to build a better life, yet sometimes a little help along the way can make the next step more accessible.
That belief led SMPLife Foundation to award its first scholarship to a graduating Payson High School senior in spring 2025. It was an opportunity to support someone already working toward a future and help provide the education that could move them closer to it.
Our family helped shape the scholarship and its selection process. Service, effort, character, and the difference additional assistance could make all mattered. We wanted to recognize promise and put practical support behind it.
The contribution provided direct educational assistance to one graduating senior. For our family, the meaning of the award reached beyond that single moment. An education can influence the work a person does, the family they raise, the people they serve, and the communities they help shape. Those possibilities are part of why investing in young adults matters to us.
This first scholarship became the beginning of an ongoing commitment to local students. It also gave our family a concrete way to turn a shared desire to serve into action: identify an opportunity, work with the school, and help someone take the next step.
SMPLife Foundation hopes to build on that beginning with others who believe in young people. We cannot know every direction a student’s life will take, but we can choose to help make a meaningful opportunity available along the way.
