An Hour Together, 150 Lunches to Share

August 12–14, 2026 | Food & Care Coalition, Provo, Utah

Twenty youth and adults gathered around a shared task: assembling 150 sack lunches for the Food & Care Coalition in Provo.

On Wednesday, August 12, local Young Men, Young Women, and adult leaders worked together in an assembly line. In about an hour, the main packing was complete. The lunches were delivered on Friday, August 14, connecting the group’s effort with an organization serving people in need close to home.

SMPLife Foundation donated the project’s food and supplies. Volunteers brought the hands and time to turn those resources into complete, portable meals. The project gave young people a clear way to participate in service and see what their combined effort could accomplish.

There is value in a task that people can readily join. Each person has something useful to do, and the individual contributions add up to a result the group can share. In this case, an hour together became 150 lunches ready for delivery.

The Food & Care Coalition’s ongoing work gave those meals a destination. Its staff and volunteers know the community they serve and the daily needs they are helping meet. Our group’s contribution was one part of that continuing effort.

For SMPLife Foundation, projects like this make service accessible. People can set aside a manageable amount of time, work alongside others, and contribute to a practical local need. Charitable support, willing volunteers, and an experienced community partner each have a role. Bringing them together is a way to help generosity go further.
