Bringing Neighbors Together: The myHometown Block-Party Trailer

Summer 2026 | Santaquin, Utah

Healthy neighborhoods grow through time spent together. A conversation over a meal, children playing nearby, and the chance to learn a neighbor’s name can help turn a street full of houses into a place where people feel connected.

As service missionaries with myHometown Santaquin, Shawn and Michelle wanted to help keep the neighborhood block-party trailer project moving forward. SMPLife Foundation donated toward the trailer because we believe in the purpose behind it: making it easier for people to gather in person and build relationships close to home.

The trailer is available to reserve free of charge. It carries tables, chairs, yard games, a sound system, and coolers, giving residents a practical starting point for hosting a neighborhood gathering. MyHometown has announced its arrival and shared the story of it being used for a block party.

For our family, the reason to support it is personal. We believe people need more time together, face to face. Knowing the people around us creates opportunities for friendship, belonging, and the everyday care that makes a neighborhood healthier.

A shared trailer can serve many gatherings over time. Hosts can draw on equipment already available to the community, while myHometown’s organizers help make the opportunity possible. SMPLife Foundation’s contribution is one part of that effort.

We are grateful to help move this project forward alongside people who care about Santaquin. Our hope is simple: more neighbors spending time together, more conversations that might otherwise never happen, and relationships that continue long after the tables and chairs are packed away.
