Making the Next Lesson Possible
Early 2026 | International education support
An online education still depends on very practical things: enrollment, access to a course, and an internet connection reliable enough to keep participating. When those resources are difficult to afford, even getting started can be a challenge.
In early 2026, SMPLife Foundation donated toward BYU–Pathway enrollment and internet access for an international student. The support focused on the practical costs of beginning an education and staying connected to learning.
This was an individual project shaped around one student’s needs. Additional donor support helped make the assistance possible, bringing several people’s willingness to help into one focused effort.
The contribution supported access to an opportunity the student would have to pursue through their own work. Completing lessons, developing skills, and continuing an education require persistence over time. Helping provide the means to participate is a useful place for a giving partnership to begin.
This project reflects the same belief that guides our local scholarships: young adults have potential, and timely assistance can help them move toward a better future. Education may also influence people beyond the student, through the work they do and the communities they eventually serve.
For SMPLife Foundation, the goal is to make an opportunity more accessible in a practical way. Sometimes that means an award presented at a school. Here, it meant helping one student connect to the next lesson. We are grateful to the donors who helped make that support possible.
